Before commencing the procedure, please ensure that the patient has completed the following preparations to prevent sample contamination or interference:
Avoid Menstruation: The optimal time for sampling is 3 to 7 days after the cessation of menstruation.
Abstinence and No Douching: Within 24 to 48 hours prior to sampling, the patient must abstain from sexual intercourse, vaginal douching, or the use of vaginal medications.
Patient Positioning: Position the patient in a supine (lying on back) position with legs spread and elevated to fully expose the perineal area.
Speculum Insertion: Use a disposable sterile vaginal speculum to fully expose the cervical os (opening).
Cervical Cleaning: Observe the condition of the cervix. If there is an excessive amount of mucus, vaginal discharge, or blood on the surface, gently wipe it away using a sterile, long-handled cotton swab.
Note: Avoid vigorous wiping, as this may cause bleeding on the cervical surface and interfere with subsequent cellular examination.
Positioning: Hold the handle of the Disposable Sterile Cervical Brush and align the tip of the brush head with the external cervical os.
Insertion into Cervical Canal: Gently insert the central portion of the brush head into the cervical canal until the shorter bristles on the sides make full contact with the surface of the external cervical os.

Rotational Collection: Maintain firm but gentle pressure on the brush handle—allowing the bristles to flex slightly is ideal—and rotate the brush 3 to 5 times in a clockwise direction.
Contraindication: Do not rotate the brush back and forth (in alternating directions); doing so may cause cell detachment or structural damage to the cells, resulting in an insufficient sample volume.
