Disposable Sterile Cervical Brush

LucentMed specializes in the R&D and manufacturing of Class II medical devices, serving as a reliable manufacturer of Disposable Sterile Cervical Brushes. Our products feature a medical-grade, soft nylon brush head that precisely collects cells from both the inner and outer cervix, ensuring efficient sampling with minimal tissue trauma.

When you choose LucentMed as your manufacturer, you gain access to Disposable Sterile Cervical Brushes at factory-direct pricing. Designed for simple and rapid operation, these brushes are ideal for gynecological general screenings, as well as HPV and TCT testing, offering clinical safety and reliability.

We utilize medical-grade soft bristles that ensure gentle yet sufficient cell collection, thereby minimizing trauma to the cervical mucosa. The ergonomically curved brush head is securely bonded to the handle—preventing detachment—and is contoured to fit the natural anatomy of the cervix, allowing for simultaneous sampling of both the endocervix and ectocervix to enhance detection rates.

The product undergoes sterilization via ethylene oxide and is provided in individual, sterile packaging; it is ready for immediate use, ensuring safety and eliminating the risk of cross-contamination.

Scope of Application

● Routine cell sampling for cervical cancer screening (combined TCT/HPV testing);

● Collection of cervical secretions/cell samples for the diagnosis of gynecological inflammation and sexually transmitted diseases;

● Sample collection for follow-up examinations of cervical lesions;

● Supports compliant home self-sampling in select regions (suitable for individuals unable to visit a medical facility; requires strict adherence to kit instructions and prompt submission of samples for testing).

How to Correctly Use a Disposable Sterile Cervical Brush for Sampling?

1. Pre-Procedure Preparation

Before commencing the procedure, please ensure that the patient has completed the following preparations to prevent sample contamination or interference:

Avoid Menstruation: The optimal time for sampling is 3 to 7 days after the cessation of menstruation.

Abstinence and No Douching: Within 24 to 48 hours prior to sampling, the patient must abstain from sexual intercourse, vaginal douching, or the use of vaginal medications.

Patient Positioning: Position the patient in a supine (lying on back) position with legs spread and elevated to fully expose the perineal area.

2. Exposure and Cleaning

Speculum Insertion: Use a disposable sterile vaginal speculum to fully expose the cervical os (opening).

Cervical Cleaning: Observe the condition of the cervix. If there is an excessive amount of mucus, vaginal discharge, or blood on the surface, gently wipe it away using a sterile, long-handled cotton swab.

Note: Avoid vigorous wiping, as this may cause bleeding on the cervical surface and interfere with subsequent cellular examination.

3. Sampling Procedure

Positioning: Hold the handle of the Disposable Sterile Cervical Brush and align the tip of the brush head with the external cervical os.

Insertion into Cervical Canal: Gently insert the central portion of the brush head into the cervical canal until the shorter bristles on the sides make full contact with the surface of the external cervical os.

Key Point: It is crucial to ensure that both the long and short bristles simultaneously contact the collection site; this ensures the simultaneous collection of cells from both the cervical canal and the cervical surface.

Rotational Collection: Maintain firm but gentle pressure on the brush handle—allowing the bristles to flex slightly is ideal—and rotate the brush 3 to 5 times in a clockwise direction.

Contraindication: Do not rotate the brush back and forth (in alternating directions); doing so may cause cell detachment or structural damage to the cells, resulting in an insufficient sample volume.

Selection Recommendations

1. Selection Based on Sampling Scenario

Routine Gynecological Exams and HPV Screening: Standard Cervical Brush.

TCT / Liquid-Based Cytology Testing: Dual-head or Extended-head models designed for higher cell collection yields.

2. Selection Based on Patient Physiological Characteristics

Parous Patients (Married with Children): Select the standard-diameter handle.

Nulliparous Patients (No Children): Select the slender-handle model to minimize discomfort and reduce the risk of injury.

3. Selection Based on Product Certification

Every Disposable Sterile Cervical Brush from LucentMed undergoes Ethylene Oxide (EtO) sterilization and is individually sterile-packaged, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance for clinical use.

4. Selection Based on Operational Requirements

Rapid Outpatient Screening: Integrated straight-handle model.

Use in Conjunction with Collection Tubes and Specimen Preservation Media: Select models featuring an easily detachable brush head or a design that allows the entire device to be inserted into the tube.
